Buttttt, if it was in the other mode, then it'd be impossible to shut off, as it is powered by 15 on the back! In subtract mode he could make it un-TRUE!

in normal mode you can add inputs and the true gate works!
Thank you guys SO much for helping me with this! I was debugging the gate for almost 2 DAYS, and decided to check out the thread. Turned out that you guys already found the problem, the comparator was in subtraction mode ;_; Once again, many thanks. I couldn't have figured this out myself!

When discussing something so complex, of course there will be leaky abstractions. This is something we just have to deal with.
