TRUE Gate

Because everyone is making threads about creations & bumping them every 4 minutes, i decided to make one myself.

So the idea is this, TRUE Gate in MC. I'm not sure if this has been done before, but i think i'll be the very first redstoner to make an in-progress log about it. Good enough for me.

So, before making a creation, i always start out with testing my project in logism. And to be honest, it doesnt seem to be looking good;

I cant get the output on, which is supposed to happen with a TRUE gate. However, i wont give up that easily. Even though Logism is giving me false results, i WILL build the TRUE gate in mc. I'll keep you guys up-to date, and post progress in this thread.

I've been less active-ish with this due to some other projects (making stupid ALU's, etc.), but im 100% back!

As you can see, the base is already build. I opted to go with a comparator based TRUE gates. Solid state has proven me many times of its reliability, and because i used the comparator variant of the gate, you could even pipeline through this gate at 2 ticks!

Now its only handeling the inputs and output. More progress updates will follow!

Add pull down resistors on the "inputs" to stop floating values.

I true gate has its output on no matter what the input is right? Then what's wrong with just having a torch and the inputs not going it to it?

Clearly some level of abstraction is causing the argument to be lost in the vastness of redstone. The transcendence of TRUE philosophy cannot be comprehended in a single thread.

Well first of all, I think, we should define true and discuss weather the real true - if there is one - is the same as the abstracated true value.

Even though optimization and obtaining efficiency in MC will be pretty difficult, the outcome would be aeviternaly superb.

I doubt that has a proper true gate function. Particles in the wafer of silicon may lead to a astable output and a clock would be needed to update this true gate at around 100mhz. But then its not a gate as its a syncronous truegate.

I think you may be overcomplicating things...

The next step would be to have a multi-inputting system in which each input is consistently added to the truegate's functionality. This would be an interesting breakthrough which would allow things such as extremely noob-friendly doors.

I think you may be overcomplicating things...

Its less complicated than it looks. Its an adder with one output for each answer with each output toggleable. The big white thing underneath is the truth table for all 16 gates... I should have made a new thread for this... Lol

The answer is pig logic... its simple all you need is a pig calculator to measure the algorithm of pigness then divide by 7 and attach it to a pig logic gate and there you go, a true gate hope I helped in your endeavor

Thank you guys SO much for helping me with this! I was debugging the gate for almost 2 DAYS, and decided to check out the thread. Turned out that you guys already found the problem, the comparator was in subtraction mode ;_; Once again, many thanks. I couldn't have figured this out myself!

When discussing something so complex, of course there will be leaky abstractions. This is something we just have to deal with.

Yes, the spider keeps the electricity from shooting off the machine and striking a creeper... lolno, i had just turned it to day, and i had it on easy difficulty.

I'm making use of three AND gates and ONE NAND gate. It was really hard to work on but I think I did a great job at compacting. It's also 0 ticks!

Now that David showed us his very unique design, I think somebody should make an instant wire version.
My math tells me it will be clearly faster then David's contraption.

Ma math says that instant == not that good (ESPECIALLY WITH AN TRUE GATE). Could be wrong though.

WAIT. I have a plan. We could just recycle the last calculation in the true gate to make a faster throughput! So it outputs and then the calculations finishs

YES! We should store the previous output in a dflip and re-use that.

We could use the output of the TRUE gate and hook if up through a plot pointer, then use that output for a sudoku renderer and than use that output and dazy chain it through 2 cpu's, maximizing the hyperthreading capabilities letting it have 4 threads to check the state of the TRUE gate.

There is the version with a dflip. It uses a clock to update the output.
