The server is still online you were probably trying during a restart or when my router was being changed for a high performance one.

Quick question: are players spawned somewhere random? to avoid conflict?
Or is spawn so far away from 0,64,0

Spawn was moved to avoid conflict with other builds (such as my own) and to allow for more world generation.
