Hey, I haven't been active in a year or two, but I think I'm one of the earliest members of the server (back when it was still the RDF) that still hops one once in awhile (I joined about the same time as Shrogg, if he's still around). Anyway, I'm in college now studying Computer Engineering, so I thought it might be a cool project to build a simplified MIPS CPU on the server over the summer (I have a research job, but I think I'll have a good amount of free time).
I still know enough about redstone to do this, but it'd be super slow -- I stopped playing pretty soon after piston logic got really popular, so I just barely understand that, and I certainly don't get the new analog redstone/repeater locking logic stuff. I don't mind having a shitty/slow implementation, it'd just be cool to have something that worked (maybe I could even implement real pipelining). I'm curious what the 'state of the art' stuff is at the moment, and what some of the big projects on the server are, and if anybody actually remembers my existence
