There is a member that helped me a lot (he is applying to become a teacher I believe, veloxsouth). Although I'm not a student yet, he helped me understand the RS NOR and RS NAND latches

I believe you and Dylan, I never see you on any more though

None because I was never a student here or RDF but properenglish (who I do not believe to be a teacher) tutorials on YouTube helped me learn.

I miss the server sometimes, but I just grew tired of all the problems that were going on. And by the look of the forums, it's actually getting worse. Maybe I'll come back soon, but for now I don't see myself doing that. The students are awesome, and you guys are actually why I stuck around for as long as I did.

How does it look like it's getting worse?

I used to be a good teacher until I noticed like ninety percent of the new people were inconsiderate fags. I started being an asshole and they're all like "ooh no a teacher is being mean! holy shit lets start a god damn riot!", which is actually stupid as fuck.
One example is when I was building xlag a dragon curve. I said I was doing math (it is math, fuck off retards) and like 3 students, even one asking me to teach him, said "WOW, how cool, so math-y!". You know who you are, people. I called one of them retarded and all of them got butthurt about it. To be honest, no bragging meant, perhaps six-seven months ago, I was one of the best teachers ORE had, alongside people like alex. That was because all of the people I taught were nice, considerate people. I had tons of lessons and that helped people to even get member from only knowing how to build fanboy doors from youtube.

I teach someone, and they become inconsiderate jerkoffs. Only a few actually learn something, and an even smaller percentage say thanks.

I think snug misses the point of what it means to be a good teacher. At least the way I see it, you shouldn't be teaching just to get a thank you at the end. After all, your main goal is to simply teach students, and help them out. If all you're after is gratification, you're actually a pretty mediocre teacher. Again, this is all just my opinion. But teachers are supposed to just teach for the sake of making the community more knowledgable, not because they want some appreciation for their efforts.

Students who actually want to learn will become reasonable once they understand what you're doing and why. It takes time for them to understand, but once they do they become much more reasonable. Also, they tend to be much younger and lack manners, so give them some slack and try to teach them some respect rather than give up.

In terms of learning from YouTube videos, I'd say the following channels helped me a lot. http://www.youtube.com/user/Properinglish19/videos http://www.youtube.com/user/IceAndMc/videos http://www.youtube.com/user/Newomaster/videos http://www.youtube.com/user/SgtGodswordBerserker/videos Also Ice, why did you not continue your calculator tutorial?

Hehehe... uh, I should really make episodes ._. I'm currently on a hiatus, but I feel quite refreshed now... look forward to upcoming episodes maybe :o

Ive played on the school server a lot lately and I've seen what you guys are talking about with how some students are difficult and I have a whole new respect for you guys, you guys are awesome and I want to say thank you to you all it takes so much patience and understanding to teach but without that I myself and a lot of other people wouldn't be where we are, and a comment on the thank you thing I don't think the teachers should be in it for gratification but a good student should be thankful either way though seeing a student learn and accomplish things and knowing you played a part in it is gratification enough

On a side note: Tolerance is a key component in open teaching. There will always be inconsiderate fagits roaming around that will make you regret the past 5 minutes of your life but those 10% that do have good intent and express that appropriately should be focused upon. A teacher should be able to have the resistance to withstand a 90% fagit rate because your hope put into the others as a teacher is strong enough to overcome the high level of faggitrey.

Quite possibly the best quote among mankind

Well...I fully understand all the desperate and angry teacher around here. I think every teacher made these experience and it the reactions are logical. I think the main problem are the impatient students [And I know there are nice and kind students], but it's really depressing if you want to explain a not easy topic and how/wy it works, but the people weren't aware of the depth of the topic. Most of them are to shy to say, they heared enough and they aren't really interested anymore, so you waste all your time in teaching a Student, who isn't really interested anymore. I don't blame the students for that. I know that the logics aren't that easy and maybe I'm not a good teacher, I have no idea, but I think, that they should act honestly at least.
That is the reason, why I'am rarely online on the Schoolserver. Say hello to a new clubmember in the "depressed teachers"

I would say the most helpful teacher is PNWMan. He's the one that got me started in actual redstone. I want to be a teacher sometime and I'm going to take your advice. And btw, I'm kind of a mixture of the 10% and 90%.

PNWMan and ctjet have been an awesome help!
shout out to kewlbroman (builder) who taught me XOR adders and to PhysoniumI who showed me all ya need to do is invert 'em to subtract.

He taught me everything about the ALU. I knew how to make one, but he helped me understand what functions relate to XOR, XNOR, OR, NOR, AND, and NAND (and and nand say that 10 times fast). I've never had another player explain things so clearly to me. I know he's a builder, not a teacher, but he gets mention, for sure.

Ctjet, he's a awesome teacher!

Lex was cool to see in that teaser just because it provides some good opportunities for the finale but most of the time I think Lex is overrated in the Superman mythos on this show though he was an essential piece.
