None. They are both great for what they are. No AMD is NOT better just for price and when AMD comes out with games that come with there CPUs intel will be in deep dodo. Intel CPUs are actually have less power than AMD but have a better per clock ratio and use a lot of new tech.
04-17-2013, 08:14 PM
I'd agree with that there is none better than the other. It's just a matter of what you want to do with them.
RAM? Oh, a new mob?
04-18-2013, 04:03 PM
It depends on purpose, budget and to the greatest degree, subjection.
04-18-2013, 09:27 PM
I have noticed something. Depending on the price and the use is the best way to determine what CPU to get.

For sure, especially the use for a system is important. If i would want to have a awesome gaming rig, then i could buy a cheaper (amd) processor and spend more on le gpu.
04-19-2013, 12:14 PM
Yep, I noticed for cheap builds, AMD is really spot-on most of the time. But if one is to spend around $1400+ on a build, they are likely to get an i5 or an i7.
04-22-2013, 04:01 PM
AMD: Cheaper, easier to Overclock, come with better integrated graphics.
Intel: More powerful, Hyperthreading.

For me its AMD because raw power.
Im getting two 8 core bulldozers @ 4.2Ghz for rendering. and all for under half the price a single Intel CPU would cost with the same amount of power.
04-23-2013, 05:21 PM
idk, i've build a lot of pc's for friends, family & other people. If they come to my and say "i want a fast gaming pc for €500", i choose a AMD, so i can get a more powerful GPU, while still keeping CPU power. = cost FTW
Why do i keep coming back? No idea.

But... PowerPC vs AMD
AMD XD
05-14-2013, 11:34 AM
The synopsis is basically this: Price determines build. I would not have gotten a six-core 2.7Ghz if I went with Intel for $90. But, speaking that AMD's most expensive CPU for consumers is the FX-8350 and is only $200~ and you want to spend more, go Intel.

In recent tests, the top AMD card can out perform the Titan, and for nearly half the price. Suck it NVidia fanboys :3 Oh, and they both have benefits. I will recommend one over the other depending on certain conditions: Price, compatibility, and need.

I have just had a better experience with Nvidia and due to the fact I use FSX, Nvidia wins outright for me. One reason I would go for AMD however is that their high end cards offer 3GB VRAM as standard compared to Nvidia's outdated 2GB.

Stop bumping this shit. There is a clear distiction between the Off-Topic and Shenanigans section.

Intel here because servers don't need CPUs built by people who make GPUs. And I can upgrade from my pentium to and i7 when I have the money.
Dude, nvidia drivers fucking suck xD (And yesh, im running a 670, so dont say im a amd fanboy or anything)
1. When running my 3 screens at 5760x1200 / 6000x1200 (bezel corrected resolution), i can choose in the Nvidia control panel wether i want to maximize windows across all of the screens, or just on a single one. I like the 2nd option, cause then i can edit, record MC, and see YT videos all at the same time. Luckily for me, it doesnt even matter at which option you put it in, windows will fully maximize anyways (Menaing that the function is clearly broken)! Hoeraay! 2. Me being a smart ass; well, then i just dont game anymore on 6000x1200, and just on 1920x1200 (single monitor)? Well suprise suprise, in order to change my Surround settings, i need to close the following programs;
Its a shame that Nvidia puts out these drivers, next time i'll upgrade my rig its going to be AMD.
01-09-2014, 05:41 PM
Yea, I've had problems with the drivers as well (as I now install the latest one, ironically ) but as I have stated before, FSX doesn't like AMD and that's really one of the only other things I play so there's is no point in me going for AMD. I have also had problems with my A10's onboard 7660D not performing well before I got my 770.
01-09-2014, 07:04 PM
Intel onboard graphics it is then...
01-09-2014, 08:12 PM
I'd never use onboard graphics though, It was just that my 480 broke so I had to make do with it until I got my 770.

Motorola FTW!
01-10-2014, 09:55 AM
fck Motorola as well Had a Minestone 2. That thing had a locked boot loader, keyboard was broken, and was a common bug within the community. Once android 4.* was released, the phopne was still only at 2.3, and i had to custom rom it to 3.4.2 (which i figured out after i broke the thing twice by flashing. That was my own fault. )
01-10-2014, 04:46 PM
What card manufactures do you recommend (eg. MSI, EVGA, etc.)?
I have a MSI Gaming card.
I would go for msi as well. Generally a good choice, but so is Asus or Gigabyte (I had some problems with it, but that's just my opp. Overall, Gigabyte has some very good cards).
Why do i keep coming back? No idea.
01-10-2014, 07:08 PM
Yea, they always seem to be much cheaper than the rest but still as good quality wise. My Gaming 770 is also very aesthetically pleasing due to the Twin Frozr Cooler:

01-10-2014, 08:14 PM
Haha , they really do look good!
I was originally going for a 670 but the 770 was only about £40 more expensive and seen as I was getting it for Xmas I might as well go for it The 770 is basically a 680 on steroids!
01-10-2014, 10:03 PM
I dont care if that thing works or not, I would put it into a trophy case for good it looks.
01-10-2014, 11:14 PM
I have a MSI mother board with and in tell Pentium 2 as my server with 8 GB of ram no GPU but the onboard one that has HDMI and VGA and don't get a Corsair CX430 PSU it won't work with it so I swiped it for a EVGA 100-W1-0430-KR 430W and this runs me and himehowareu's server
