In Regards to Recent Events

Given the events the past week or so, Staff would like to lay out the events and the reason for our actions, inviting community input regarding these actions.

It was brought to our attention that Greatgamer34 was contributing to Datawave, a community that DataCorruption is trying to start. We decided to talk with Greatgamer34, asking about his involvement in Datawave. Greatgamer34 denied involvement in Datawave. Another individual later came to Staff saying that Greatgamer34 posted private documentation from Staff’s private discussion board to Datawave just days before being asked about his involvement in Datawave. Greatgamer34 has also stated that he would release more once Datawave went public. One should also take into consideration that Greatgamer34 was actively trying to become Admin again. Doing so would result in Greatgamer34 obtaining much more information and that could be seen as a threat against ORE given his collusion with Datawave and his tendency to publicize private information.

Upon finding this out, we concluded that the best course of action was to demote Greatgamer34 due to the lack of integrity and trust his actions portrayed. Meanwhile, DataCorruption denied receiving help and denied that these documents ever existed in Datawave. Greatgamer34, during his time as staff, implemented changes without consulting the rest of staff, such as making public statements without proper staff discussion, while DataCorruption, after some time being a moderator, decided to leave ORE in order to make his own community. The collaboration between these two former staff has lead us to make the decision to ban both DataCorruption and Greatgamer34 due to their negligence and overall denial of collusion.

As always, Staff greatly appreciates community input. We love the ORE community and do not want it to become split by events such as this. We do not expect all of ORE to understand Staff’s reasoning for our actions, but we would appreciate an open mind when considering the situation.

I love how this screams childishness and nothing but pure emotional rage. The only reason you think this staff is trash, is because we didnt bend over every time you wanted us to take it. Just because you want something, and the vast majority of other staff dont, doesnt mean we are a trash staff team, it simply means you do not know how to properly go about convincing people to go along with your plans and have a sheer unwillingness to compromise.

I would love to see this proof. Honestly. Cause from my memory, Nickster and I disagreed on the activity thing and Jer and I worked with You and Data on something that would make everyone happy. Then mentioned that we just wanted you to repost a new thread since the old one was so filled with edits and poll changes. You simply had to make a new vote and that would have been passed, either of you could have.

There have been many votes that He and I have voted together and seperate, won and lost... There hasnt really been any major change or anything that was simply nick or I doing it all the way (that i can remember, i could be wrong, If you have examples I would like to know what they are). We discuss things, I may not make a post on the forums for some of the minor things I do, but i talk in slack and get ppls input till i know the majority has replied and is in agreeance, if not enough yeses, i just make a joke and forget about it.

We demoted you because of the *complete* loss of trust(lying about stuff is probably the worst thing you could have done). We banned you because of the combination of this and the fact that you kept starting shit, just like you're doing here.

You're making false accusations too. For example, we have had many, many things that both capo and nick didn't like still happen.

(Also, the thing about "shareable", that's one of three documents that was shared and is the only one that had "shareable" in the title.)

I dont know if im missing some info, but the story sounds... odd.

If sharing documents was the reason for the ban, then the ORE staff did a terrible job at preventing it.
I mean, come on, ORE stuff shareable? You didn't even name it "private" or something else to indicate it wasn't a public document?
When I saw it, I instantly assumed it was public knowledge from the name. After skimming through it, it looked like your average set
of server rules. Why this is such a hot topic is beyond me, but I don't understand why the ORE staff team didn't take measures to seal
a document they were so worried about leaking. Who the fuck makes a shareable link to a Google Doc if they don't want it being shared?
What's next, the CAS storing passwords in plaintext? If you didn't want people to leak it, you should have taken more care with who
had access to it.

And once it was "at DataWave", I didn't see much use of it. Some guys (all of which are/were ORE members) just discussed it, and saw it
as a starting point for what a future DataWave "constitution" could be. Your future server rules and such being kept secret is
ridiculous. To be honest, it just sounds like you needed an excuse to ban him. Why these documents are "private" is beyond me. I didn't
read every word, but they didn't contain anything special. If they did, fine. They shouldn't have been shared, but they also shouldn't
have been posted on Google Docs. I still think it's stupid that the rules of a Minecraft Server are being locked up.

As for DataCorruption, why was he banned? That isn't explained here at all. Just because he denied knowing about the documents?
Because he wanted to start his own server? Because he knows gg? He probably shouldn't have lied about having the documents if that's
what happened, but banning some of the most active members on ORE is going to split things up.

Again, I don't have a stake on either side. I'm just here to sprint jump on blocks.

First off, "ORE stuff shareable" was a document made by Greatgamer34 and was already public upon initialization. This was following community backlash regarding his very unnecessary announcement that was not discussed with any other admin.

Secondly, the two other documents Greatgamer34 fails to mention here were never, ever made public (That is until Greatgamer34 leaked them). These documents were drafts that the Staff team were working on in an attempt to have more documentation regarding our operations. These items were never completed and were thus never fit for public viewing. The "ORE Constitution - WIP" that everyone is saying should be a public document, was created long after ORE was founded and was only spawned in an attempt to clarify operations and rules. Since the document was never completed, it was never a basis for which we dealt with issues. It was a Work In Progress for a reason.

Lastly, while this is just a "Video Game Server", something of such nature like sharing private, incomplete documentation is never, ever, in any circumstance, considered "minor". We treated this incident seriously as the Staff team and the community as a whole is built on trust, of which we no longer had with Greatgamer34.

This was after gg posted the docs in dwave. I stepped down the day before gg posted them and had literally no idea these where private documents. I had no reason to suspect they where private in the first place. Nothing about them said non-shareable or "private" and they where made/shared by gg... w h a t t h e f u c k g u y s 

On the note of gg being involved... He was only involved as much as everyone else in the dwave disc until you banned him. The ONLY person who helped work on anything dwave before we both got banned was class. I made this clear to capo

So idk what you want me to think i was banned for but it seems disingenuous to say its not cause i'm starting a competitor.  

I don't care about actually being banned cause i was leaving to start dwave anyway. I would have said it's sad to see ore lose its 2 most active members, but after this... welp.. later.

Ima give my two cents to this, thought I already did but apparently not. But especially to this one post: I really don't think gg would have destroyed ORE if he got admin. What reason would he have? Like he may not always been the smartest guy when it comes to decisions, but he never came off as a person willing to destruct a whole server just because he can.

This just shows us you do not fully understand your wrongdoing. You shared documentation that, while yes did not contain any private information (Other than personal names and potential account information), it was still just drafts and were never meant for public consumption until the drafts were completed. Honestly, had you asked to share the documentation, Staff would have been perfectly fine with it. Either way, this is a decision based on principle, not content.

I feel that this point has been reiterated enough times for someone to understand, so I am going to step back from this discourse in hopes that you finally see our problem with your actions.
