Hello!
I joined the school server a little under a year ago, at which time I was very actively playing minecraft--most notably learning about and exploring how micro-tick tech could help improve certain aspects of computation redstone. About a month or two afterwards, I had to move back in with my folks to help take care of my mother; while factoring in that time, my continued education and work...I just didn't really have much time to play minecraft (or much of anything, really). Still, I'm going to work on that and try to ease my schedule a bit to allow for some more fun--especially here.
On the up hand, I haven't just been slacking off this whole time. This past semester I took a class dedicated to analogue electronics, which included all the bits and bobs you'd expect for analogue-based logical circuits--which helped to clear up some of my own personal questions about how to relate certain redstone mechanics to a real-world scenario (to a certain degree). This semester, though, is my first actual foray into digital electronics and perhaps some basic PLD design work. At the moment, I'm a bit bored in the class--we've just covered the importance of number systems in digital logic (DEC/HEX/BIN), as well as all seven basic logic gates (which I'm already more than familiar with). As an example of where we are, this past Thursday at the end of class our instructor gave us a truth table and asked us to design a circuit to solve a problem. To help out the other two students (small classes are the best classes!), he told us "If the car door is open, and the keys are in the ignition or the lights are on--turn on the buzzer." That's where we are--right at the beginning. So, yeah...
Another thing I've been vaguely working on is some basic plugins for spigot. A friend of mine was having an issue, which I figured I could help with--and while I'm correct, my idea for this plugin requires more time than I have available. Still, its still useful (since he won't use the vanilla chunk loaders, anyways).
So, tl;dr--hopefully I'll get some time to get back online and continue learning and improving my designs. That, and I apologize greatly for suddenly disappearing from the server without any warning or explanation.
Alex
