Encoding and decoding 1 tick hex across 1 wire

wow I just made something similar yesterday it looks quite different but I'll check out yours too didn't have a look at it yet because I had no internet the last few days. I'll share my pictures with you later

This device takes 1 tick hex across 1 wire and outputs 2 tick hex over 2 wires. This is quite useful as there are possibilities to make a 2 tick hex to bin decoder but not 1 tick. I'm currently working on a version 2 of this because I think I can reduce the time it takes (approx 30 ticks right now) to about 8 or 9 ticks and make it about half the size. Also I'm having some ideas on making huge datastorages with 1 tick hex (inspired by koala_steamed who seamingly didn't manage to decode 1 tick hex but now we have two solutions so I think that's no problem anymore). 

I'll build onw of these on my plot too when I come back from holidays

and this is the output, the first 4 signals are outputted on the bottom the next 4 on the top.
so on the bottom wire 1, 3, 5, 7 and the top wire 9, 11, 13, 15

the trick is to also be able to reverse the signal without the higher SS overtaking the smaller, your only testing it from low to high.

it also works from low to high. the same problem also arrises when going from 15 SS to 1 SS in the previous test.

Apo, can you help me understand what's wrong with my multiplexer+b2a? The binary sting (pixels of a character from ROM) sent is perfect, but it isn't displayed properly on the repeater display.
