1.10 Upgrade and Survival poll

This week I will be preparing the new server upgrade to 1.10. This upgrade will include the Survival server, so it's time to decide what kind of map we will have!

Here are your options:

• Keep the current map.
  
• Generate a new default map.
  
• Generate a new Mountain Madness map (sample below)
  
• Generate a new Isle Land map (sample below)

Ah ayum damned surprised none have made but a single comment to this most worthy post. I vote generate a new normal map. Btw, please don't postpone the update; I'm having to switch between like 3 game versions going server to server.

It should theoretically be possible to only use 1.8.
Survival runs on this version, and I'm pretty sure build and school both have a backport protocol plugin installed.

The problem with these is that you'd be deleting people's work, so if survival is rip than you must make the map available.
Also some people may be particularly fond of the survival server so maybe you could put it out to vote whether to replace the survival server with a different one. Personally I'd like to see a server with project red and computercraft or opencomputers (or both! ), a plot world, builders only, creative. Take with a pinch of salt because many people hate modded redstone but IMO it would give us a chance to work on higher-level things like legit software without it being ridiculously slow or impractical, which we don't get to do on the build server.

I'm just saying that dropping survival entirely may not be a bad idea.

Yes, we plan to host the current survival map as a public download if it is reset or if the survival server is taken down.

From what I have seen based on communication with other Staff members, Survival will come back when all servers get upgraded to 1.10.

I've come back from my vacation! Sadly, I am leaving again for engineering camp. Luckily I'll be able to bring my laptop, so I'll be making preparations for the 1.10 survival this week.

I'd rather keep survival and generate a new map. Doesn't matter what type, though.
