Easily possible. We'll have an PlayerLoginEvent listener, which then grabs the name of the joined player. It then sets a global variable (lastPlayer) to the name, and calls a function to set a few redstone blocks to the corresponding ASCII values. (No direct modifications of the screen, that's cheating! We've gotta use redstone!)
