Okay, you have a point. However;
In how many cycles is a cpu with only the combinations OR AND NOT and Shift Left going to preform ADD. I would say, more than just implementing an adder in the first place. Plus, since we can already build 8 bit adders in 4 ticks these days, it just sounds idiotic not to have one...
However, please prove me wrong! I can tell you already that i'll be very impressed :3
