I am going to build a 4 function ALU and build a computer around it.this build is for fun and proof of concept I am testing to see witch is better I fast CPU or a powerful CPU so I can pick which I will program my is for I think I might make two copies
The 4 functions I am going to use are

Shift left
Not
And I will simulate the other functions using those functions
It will have a zero checker

You can add and subtract with it even with out an add function

Okay, you have a point. However;
In how many cycles is a cpu with only the combinations OR AND NOT and Shift Left going to preform ADD. I would say, more than just implementing an adder in the first place. Plus, since we can already build 8 bit adders in 4 ticks these days, it just sounds idiotic not to have one...
However, please prove me wrong! I can tell you already that i'll be very impressed :3

This is a proff of concept I am Going to try to make this fast
I a! Not saying that it will be logical so
Adding will tack more cycles and more time but other tacks might be faster I have not done the math yet so I do not know the speed yet I have to help clean my house right now so when I am do e I will do the math and post them here
If anyone is good at install logic I need some help
I am hoping to get this done to 1 1\2 to 2 ticks
I am hoping this will help me lean some thing that will help me with my OS

Sorry never get to doing the math bit I am going to use insta wire and am hoping to get this down to 1 1\2 ticks maybye a 1 tick clock
