What is your In Game Name (IGN): icecoldjazz is the account that I primarily play with. I also own the account Th3Fa113n1, which is the name used on youtube for my creations. I can provide proof if that is deemed necessary.
What in particular interests you most about redstone: I enjoy logic and took an interest in electrical/computer engineering long ago. Consequently, a system that models that in a video game appealed to me, and my journey with redstone began. I began playing in early alpha and worked with redstone ever since; my favorite component is the good old redstone torch.
Which prompt have you selected to build: Prompt 1 (adder-related stuff).
If you selected prompt 5, what is the prompt that you have designed: n/a
Please provide an explanation of your device: This computer is the second-most-recent one I've built, and the largest by far (we dubbed her "bertha" on the server I built it on).
The computer has 128 bytes of ROM and 16 bytes of RAM if I recall correctly. Real life intervened, so I never bothered to speed up the clock to an acceptable pace (the one implemented in the video is much longer than necessary; it existed for testing purposes). It has a 16-bit pseudo-random number generator based on 16 separate 6-bit linear feedback shift registers which I seeded manually; the architecture does not currently allow a seed to be loaded via a command. The ALU has eighteen (useful) functions: out = {true, false, -1, x, !x, y, !y, x++, x--, y++, y--, x+y, x-y, y-x, x&y, x|y, -x, -y}.
It is a CISC machine, and I designed the architecture myself. The image below is the one I created when designing the device and can explain the architecture better than I can in a thousand words:
Please provide image or video documentation of your device hosted by either imgur.com or youtube.com: 16-bit 18-function computer
Do you agree to the rules of our server: (yes/no) Yes.
Thank you for taking the time to review my application! Let me know if there is anything else that I left out or you require proof of my two accounts.
Best Regards,
icecoldjazz
