Making a 1 wide adder atm but I kinda failed D: it doesn't have a carry in but does have carry out and its 2 wide because of 1 block :/ need to improve

1wide O-o it would have to be a 45 degree stack or a 1 up 1 down stagger to work efficiently.

One wide adders and other circuits are usually very slow.

Currently my adder can calculate 01 and 10

One wide tileable half adder, nice
07-16-2013, 09:14 PM
nono not half, its a full adder but not tileable :p

An adder that can only calculate either the sum or the carry but not both at the same time is by definition a half adder.

Oh lol... I'm bad at rs ):

Hey, no problem! Making your own one wide half or full adder certainly isn't bad at redstone! Keep working on it, excited to see what you come up with
07-18-2013, 12:26 AM
Gave up on it, shouldn't start with a 1 wide before I finished a normal adder :p
07-18-2013, 12:37 AM
Haha, makes sense. Two wide adders are a lot easier to work with, I think they're a lot of fun.

Dcrntricts 2 wide adder can be modified to 1 wide with only 1 added
Torch delay. I reccomend starting with 4 wide adders and then going Over to 2 and 1 wide design.

Tomys/Icks/I built a 1 wide (45 degree slant, LSB low end) instant carry adder. We used glowstone, which helped with offset/ensuring no backflow. Hmmm.
* redstonewarrior considers finding that, and tomys' refined second version

If it's less than 6 ticks to output sum or carry, then that might actually be useful as a super compact adder (even if it's ripple carry)

Imma changing my Adder to 1-2 wide design 4 ticks sum and 2 tick
Carry in 1 bit and instant till 9 bits.(Instant 9)

So, redstonewarrior, any news on that 1 wide adder? That actually sounds pretty exciting if it really is instant-carry.
07-26-2013, 06:15 PM
Oh, yes. We didn't actually use glowstone in V1, and I don't have V2 around (that I know of.) It's somewhere at /pwarp redstonewarrior 4. ({1,2} == main plots, {3} == special project, {4} == nastalgia plot)
07-26-2013, 11:25 PM
I want 2 plots now 1 for SAC and 1 for just main plot.
Anyway how is it possible to have a instacarry 1 wide adder. Also Brits 2 wide adder is more reliable than Dcentricts.

You can use glowstone or half-slabs to prevent backflow in one wide space, and I assume he used the usual piston method from there. Although, I would still love to see the design, it would be wonderful if you could just make 1 bit of it again and take a picture redstonewarrior
