Transporting Items

So I had a project that I started in a Singleplayer testing world, and I wanted to make it on the server, but the automatic storage system it uses requires droppers and/or dispensers as an item transport system, but items can't be dropped in plots. Is there any way around this or a different method of making the items go from one place to another?
