What do you like the most about redstone?: that it has a built in NOR gate that let's you build all kinds of logic gates and circuits with it.
What's a thing you have made which demonstrates redstone knowledge?: An ALU.
What does the thing do?: It lets you add binary numbers, and subtract with 2's complement. it also lets you do bit wise logic with Flood Carry(FC), Invert a(!a), Invert b(!b), Cin, and OR functions

What do you plan on making for your build trial?: The same ALU but with a microcontroller to switch between gates. so an AND level will turn on FC !a !b and OR, and a NOR lever will trun on FC and OR, ext...
