NO clue how this happened, but I rebooted my PC one day and now I have to press ctrl every time I skip/play/pause/reverse a track on Spotify.
I listen to music all of the time and this has gotten really annoying, especially in gaming since the ctrl key does quite a lot.
How do I "re-assign" this as a global hotkey so I do not have to press ctrl all the time?

Why do you assume this is a windows problem and not a spotify problem

Windows. I checked and apparently there are many issues regarding global hotkeys and windows media.

Yes, however none of them helped. Some went as far as to disable windows media player entirely (because VLC is pro anyway) and even that didn't work.
