RE: Architecture Comparison, questions. .. - LordDecapo - 11-28-2014 TSO, where the fuck did u find an HP Intel and AMD guy t skype with? Due tell please RE: Architecture Comparison, questions. .. - TSO - 11-28-2014 You should learn about Ft. Collins and it's importance in the history of technology. Like I said, the eight buildings of HP, Intel, and AMD are literally all at the intersection of Harmony and Ziegler, and every year one of them lays off a bunch of engineers and architects, and they just move across the street to another company (usually the rotation is HP, Intel, AMD), so they all know each other, and they all worked together at some point on the same top secret projects when they were all at the same company, ex etera. I've said it before, but maybe not here, HP, Intel, and AMD are the same company, they just haven't realized it yet. Then behind HP (to the north) used to be Sun Microsytems, but they left and that all got purchased by Avant or Alegent or something like that, as did some of the fab buildings HP didn't use anymore. Intel across the street fabs all of HP's top secret shit anyway. Down in Longmot (half hour drive) is IBM, somewhere nearby is Boeing, I think TI has a thing in the are too, but I don't know for sure about that. With that out of the way, I was at dinner with the Intel guy who is one of my parents' friends, then he skyped the AMD guy, and I wish the HP guy was there because by no means is he low on the totem pole (he does not get fired when layoff season comes around). RE: Architecture Comparison, questions. .. - Magazorb - 11-29-2014 You should probably look up the definition of company... if you been out in the real world the ones who get fired a lot are considered disposable, world's dark. RE: Architecture Comparison, questions. .. - jxu - 11-30-2014 Tech industry's ruthless. They will hire new guys for 5 years max and then lay them off RE: Architecture Comparison, questions. .. - TSO - 12-02-2014 Yeah, even someone important can get rotated; especially here, where they know he'll be back in a few years anyway. RE: Architecture Comparison, questions. .. - LordDecapo - 12-02-2014 Tso,, u never even answered the question. how did u end up meeting those guys and getting them to skype with you? I, as well as Maga and other I'm willing to bet, would love to be a skype call like that. and ya, they aren't by any stretch of the imagination "the same company" implications of tech they use, architecture they use, and many many other things make them harsh enemis and competitors. Look up "Anti-Monopilization" laws... that right there requires them to never ever be 'the same company' the only similarity is yes they MAY have shared some employees, I have a 80% chance that u are mistaken, and most people laid off, we're layeD off for a reason and they wouldnt get a job right across the street like that. But the true similarity is that they all collectivly, want to advance the human knowledge of technology. And they can only do that we'll as compitition. RE: Architecture Comparison, questions. .. - LordDecapo - 12-04-2014 Work and life have been crazy recently, but I still plan on doing this write up, I'll prob put out a short mini version with just basics this and just expand on it over time RE: Architecture Comparison, questions. .. - Magic :^) - 12-04-2014 schweets RE: Architecture Comparison, questions. .. - PhysoniumI - 12-04-2014 Yea agreed Decapo. Thing is, anti-monopolization laws are just about ignored when it comes to companies like Comcast (purchasing TWC (did that actually ever happen?)) when there's "technically" competition in the market, albeit they have no chance at competing properly on a significant scale. RE: Architecture Comparison, questions. .. - Soziophobia - 12-05-2014 Is it possible to participate Lord? I'd like to give an overview of the cpu08 by freescale ( cisc - architecture ) |
