I would wait until they are less glitchy. Also, I think it would have to be run by someone apart from the server.

I've proven that arbitrarily large "doors" are do-able. Which means basically you can make any size airships (two directional). Though I'm thinking submarines would be more interesting

Submarines would be very nice! Or stuff like "space elevators" (omg sorry) and user-controlled flying devices (planes) are super cool concepts!

Pistons are one of the best things ever made in mc! However, once you start doing some real advanced logical redstoning, like making nice fast cpu's or try to pipeline at some amazing speed, you just need to move on to piston-less builds.
(also if you want to have your creation working after 2 years, its best to not use pistons as well
(Yet again, some solid state things might change in the future as well, like the comparator -> repeater lock combo.))
