RE: poll on computers to buy - Xray_Doc - 12-01-2013 tfw no Windows 98 RE: poll on computers to buy - lijrobert - 12-01-2013 Depends on what you're planning to do. Both are better in some places and worse in others. I like SSDs, but lots of ram is good for Photoshop and the lovable memory hog, Minecraft. 780 is a better GPU, but the CPU of the other is faster. I could keep going, but it's not worth it. This is really your choice to make. RE: poll on computers to buy - Chibill - 12-01-2013 Option 2 Mai because then your motherboard in your laptop can dynamically overclock your CPU if needed or only run 1 of its 2 cores it you don't need all of the power from it. Of course, if you want that, go with option number 2. As for myself, i voted for option number one. But if i would buy it, i wouldn't choose either one of them. Probably step down to a Core I5 quad core running at 2.something, nice SSD, integrated graphics will do fine (especially with the Hashwell cpu's nowadays), and 8GB of ram is plenty. Keep in mind that i already have a beast gaming pc, so i wont want the extra gaming features on a laptop. If you don't have anything else, hey, who am i to say that you don't need to throw a 780 in your laptop. Too much RAM is never enough RAM. After all, >ramdisks.
