Change Petitioned For: Add WorldEdit to /Play for Builders
Reasons for change:
1. WorldEdit is a very powerful tool. Even with just //copy, //save, //load, //replace, and //paste, WorldEdit makes building way, way faster.
2. /Play might actually get some love. It's great for testing out TNT farms but building is block by block so nobody really uses /Play all that much.
3. /Play could eventually be like a mechanical engineering counterpart to /School's computer engineering.
Reasons for no change:
1. LAG. /Play is already a bit laggy, but with WorldEdit it may get worse. (My counter-counterpoint: We can force //fast and we can enforce lag machines like on /School)
2. Who cares about /Play? (Me and a couple of students)

In conclusion, I feel like this could totally be implemented if /Play was policed like /School (People reporting lag machines to mods, etc)
play is stupid
Could someone clarify why this wasn't implemented when play was created? I want to make sure I understand both sides before voting.

I assume this is because people were scared of lag, seeing as play has water physics and item drops. If someone wanted to, they could theoretically fill an entire area with redstone wires and crash the server by breaking one. However, the reason people don't do this on build is ban enforcement.
Play is supposed to be a where you go and do laggy ordeals that can be bothersome for others on the server. A lot of mechanics are disabled on build to keep the server going smooth. Now this stuff is much more laggy than you might realize. If you're doing something that takes too long to do by hand, you're almost surely going to grind the server to a halt until someone comes in and brings it back to life. So do it by hand or don't do it. At least that's the rationale for the decision. If this is to be implemented, there must also be a solution to the problem of lag too. Killing the server is surprisingly easy with WE.
