SImplest Way to Cross Redstone Lines

I am trying to emulate an optically routed clocked D Flip Flop shown in this article(about mid way down):

To do this sort of routing I need for some Redstone lines to cross each other. What are the simplest ways of doing this.

Currently I am using Mordritch's JavaScript Redstone Simulator:

I am meeting with some Minecraft kids where I teach this weekend to get better Minecraft oriented. In the meantime I am using the simulator.
