My background:
I am studying CS (computer science) but this stuff interests me, and I'll be taking a class on this later so I would like to know about the internals of a computer, and the logic behind it. EE (electrical engineering) isn't my favorite cup of tea, but it interests me enough that I want to explore and learn how each bit in a computer works.
What I know so far:
All logic gates (Compact designs no, but I know what every gate does)
Most redstone rules (not very interested in hoppers, droppers, pistons unless it significantly improves a build)
Two's complement
D flip flop (AND gate)
T flip flop (Toggles value)
What I have build so far:
A 4 bit adder/subtracter with a display
A 2 bit multiplier
A 4 bit multiplier (may have a few bugs but 95% done)
What I am learning right now:
The 7 segment binary decoder
What I would like to learn:
RAM
BCD (For larger numbers than 9)
Bit shifting (This one yes)
Using the ALU to multitask (Not simultaneously, but do logic operations as well as arithmetic ones)
Structure of a computer
Goals I have:
Eventually make a 4, or more function calculator
Pick from the classes above, and I can get you started; Come on the server when you like.
Also, extra credit for the extensive response
