Dylan's serial is easy to convert between the serial I will be using. Instead of using a second initiate wire for extra speed, I use a lead bit. It only takes one more tick, and you need half as many wires. iirc Dylan's serial is 1 tick per bit which is the same as intOREnet's serial. I would be happy to help you build this but I cannot for the next few months.
An 8 (or 16) wide tray would work well for intOREnet. An 8 wide tray means that each packet can send 4 lines, whereas 16 wide means each packet can send 2 lines.
