Nice, can you explain how some of the logic behind it works?

First. The adders. The sum of the first half adder goes into the left input of the second one. The right input is Cin. Cout is the carry of The 2 adders OR'd. This repeats for all 4 bits. The subtraction switch inverts the right input for each bit. Along with powering the Cin of the first bit.
