I need some computer help... - Xray_Doc - 06-18-2015 I have a bit if a different situation for my computer, I don't have direct access to the router. The only way to connect wired is through an extender. So, you I get a PCIe wireless adapter? Or should I use the extender, and if I do you I use the motherboards LAN or get a PCIe wired connector? Basically, will my speed change if I use the extended wired or if I use a wireless PCIe? And if wired which one is better? It installed 12 missing drivers on my board and you may need the killer LAN driver. RE: I need some computer help... - Apuly - 06-25-2015 Judging by the mobo, there's already a gigabit connection on your mobo, so you do not need the pci wired network thing. In pretty much every situation a direct connection to the router is superior, with both ping and speed. With PowerLine Internet VS WiFi, WiFi has a higher speed, but a lot less consistent ping, which is not great for gaming. PowerLine Internet is slower, but has a lower and more consistent ping. You also get the advantage that there is no interference with neighboring networks, which is something you can get with WiFi.
