I need some computer help... - Xray_Doc - 06-18-2015

I have a bit if a different situation for my computer, I don't have direct access to the router. The only way to connect wired is through an extender.

So, you I get a PCIe wireless adapter? Or should I use the extender, and if I do you I use the motherboards LAN or get a PCIe wired connector?

Basically, will my speed change if I use the extended wired or if I use a wireless PCIe? And if wired which one is better?

Or should I take this to a computer hardware forums and ask those guys?

I have a netgear extender and that doesn't really answer the question

RE: I need some computer help... - Xray_Doc - 06-19-2015

I have a pretty good extender, I just need to know now what adapter I should use. The one in the mobo, or a PCIe one.

Mobo one...

Go to MSI's website and download the live update tool for your motherboard. It installed 12 missing drivers on my board and you may need the killer LAN driver.

Judging by the mobo, there's already a gigabit connection on your mobo, so you do not need the pci wired network thing.

In pretty much every situation a direct connection to the router is superior, with both ping and speed.

With PowerLine Internet VS WiFi, WiFi has a higher speed, but a lot less consistent ping, which is not great for gaming.
PowerLine Internet is slower, but has a lower and more consistent ping. You also get the advantage that there is no interference with neighboring networks, which is something you can get with WiFi.

I already ordered the parts. If I don't use the PCIe I don't use it.

BUT FOR GOD FUCKING SAKE NEWEGG HAS TAKEN ALMOST A WEEK TO SHIP ME SHIT. EVEN NZXT SHIPPED MY CASE AND IT SAID 5-7 DAYS. NOT ONLY THAT BUT I THINK THEY REMOVED MY GPU FROM MY ORDER SO I MIGHT HAVE TO SIT THROUGH THIS SHIT AGAIN

RE: I need some computer help... - Apuly - 06-25-2015

Ggwp Newegg reported

RE: I need some computer help... - Chibill - 06-26-2015

you sure it is NewEgg and not your local UPS or what ever.. I had to actually flag down the UPS truck to even get them to try delivering my case.. and they randomly just gave my cousin the other parts and marked that tracking as delivered with the comment "Left with girl".....

RE: I need some computer help... - Xray_Doc - 06-26-2015

The GPU may have sold out right before I bought it. Anyway, I got everything else from newegg and my case today, so everything is set up. All I need is to order the GPU again and the build will be done!

Now I have to wait another week to get my GPU. Otherwise, here is everything I have done.
