5hz in MC. - Billman555555 - 07-24-2013 I was recently browsing the RDF fourms (don't Ask why), And I saw a project for 3Hz and 5hz computers without Pipelining. * Billman555555 Died of amazement and Xplosive hz* So two things to ask firstly is this possible and Secondly, can we do better because if we can I would like To help and if possible can we do this with SAC even just 2 Hz this would put us up with them: http://forum.redstonedev.net/showthread.php?tid=1259 RE: 5hz in MC. - Chibill - 07-24-2013 The 5 hz is impossible that's 5 instructions a second and that would mean a 2 tick system for the whole computer. 1 hz is possible it is one instruction a second. RE: 5hz in MC. - redstonewarrior - 07-24-2013 Not impossible, just... terrifyingly horrible instant circuitry the likes of which I haven't seen in twenty years. I wonder if that glowstone wire update bug is still around (Faster reset time.) On a side note, I have the theoretical concepts that would allow for a 40hz+ cpu. Enjoy the terrors of that, and enjoy thinking "LIAH!" Spoiler: No one said a CPU had to be sequential per one cycle :3 RE: 5hz in MC. - David - 07-24-2013 (07-24-2013, 08:18 PM)redstonewarrior Wrote: Not impossible, just... terrifyingly horrible instant circuitry the likes of which I haven't seen in twenty years. Is there any hardware capable of running a 40 hz cpu within minecraft? btw: LIAH! RE: 5hz in MC. - redstonewarrior - 07-24-2013 AHHHHHHHHHHHH Yes, hardware would cause it to run at -1Hz. Btw: LIAH LYING LIAH AHHHHHHHHHHHHHh RE: 5hz in MC. - Billman555555 - 07-25-2013 I have managed to get SAC to 14 tick clock cycles so .8 Hz, want to get it to 1 Hz but don't know if possible, I believe we should set a standered for ORE Computer clock speeds . (Why am I replying to my own reply, dunno. BTW: Liah RE: 5hz in MC. - Guy1234567890 - 07-25-2013 You can pipeline at 2 ticks http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jdSLBNAWo0 RE: 5hz in MC. - Ntwede - 07-29-2013 Just make a multiple ALU computer that cycles between which ALU it uses. you could literally switch ALU's every single tick and have a very fast pipeline. RE: 5hz in MC. - Guy1234567890 - 07-29-2013 ^not necessary RE: 5hz in MC. - David - 07-29-2013 A bit of a newb quetsion: What is pipeline? It sounds very interesting RE: 5hz in MC. - Billman555555 - 07-30-2013 (07-29-2013, 08:21 PM)David Wrote: A bit of a newb quetsion: What is pipeline?I was going to ask that question. Ha, but what is pipeline? Altough it's pretty cool. |
