More post on ORE youtube channel? - Phase - 01-07-2015
I could do some CSM shots of stuff (used to do it a ton). It'd be pretty cool to see stuff uploaded regularly.
Not everyone has time to go all around the ORE to see the latest stuff, so showing off new builds on the server would be sweet. Just a ~2min video about what the hell the thing does, with some words by the creator.
And the plot showcases were a cool idea. It's sad to see that one person goes inactive, and that dies. We should get some more obscure people on there, like MagicGent or Jallen.
Also, a new trailer would be sweet. We could get a new one every year, showing off the great builds (and small ones) of that year. (Trinary calculator anyone?
)Videos about new staff? Whenever there's an election, just post a quick video of the new staff members, with some shots of their plots.
Also a system for submitting videos to be featured on the channel, like http://videos.openredstone.org/ You upload a video with a title & description, and staff can see if it's good enough for the channel.
Of course this is stuff all way down the line, but it'd be nice to see some action on that.

that's a great idea! it could be like an ORE news thing. we could even do podcasts with a few members with something interesting to include to it. we could use TS for that.
btw I have experience with photoshop, I could contribute with art and such. would really expand the ORE server and people can become more connected. +1

I second all of this. The ORE yt channel really needs new videos, and I think it could grow alot, considering the amount of members and quality builds. And the podcasting sounds good too!

Its an old joke Xray. It flew around in the admin chat for a while, kinda poking fun at how fast Tyler replied to applications. The joke was that Tyler was held captive in reds basement and was given a shot of heroin for ever 50 apps that he reviewed.

Also,
I don't think displaying the plot of a prospective staff member is relevant at all to the matter at hand. Just because someone builds cool redstone stuff, doesn't mean that they'd make a good moderator/admin. Also just because someone isn't the best with redstone, doesn't mean they would be terrible at being a staff member. Let's use cut as an example. He was pretty good at redstone, whether you liked him or not, and he knew quite a bit about computer architecture and built a lot of stuff, but I think we can all agree that the day he was made a staff member would be a dark day indeed.
I think a much better thing would be for an existing staff member to organise a series of short interviews with the candidates (2 or 3 minutes) and post those online. It would give people who don't really know some of the candidates a chance to consider them rather than just voting for the people you know.

I aggree with you for the most part jall, but admins are also there to trial the school, member and teacher applicants. Making someone less knowledgable with redstone as staff would be a little tricky. For example, there have been many times when i watched a trial and was sure they were going to pass, but they didn't. If i was in the judging position at that time i probably would have derped and said "yeah sure!"

It's an interview. You don't need video for a bloddy interview.
Also, it's audio editing. You don't need skills for editing bloddy audio.
As for the interview idea, it would be interesting, but everybody would have to do it the same way, so it would probably be best if just a small Q&A was done, because it gives people more time to think, and everybody on the server is willing to use their keyboard.

When ever I finish a redstone build I always make at least one video showcasing it. We have lots of member on ORE, it wouldn't be that hard to fill the channel if everyone makes a video every now and then.
