Why are we not switching to spigot? - PabloDons - 10-01-2014 I find it strange that we haven't switched to spigot yet, it's an optimized bukkit. Is there any issues I haven't been informed of? in which case please specify RE: Why are we not switching to spigot? - PhysoniumI - 10-01-2014 No fucking clue. Some people are just obtuse and never search the internets for non-shit bukkit? Honestly, it should have been used the instant ORE was first started. RE: Why are we not switching to spigot? - Chibill - 10-01-2014 you have to tournet the latest version then patch it every update for that version you downloaded. RE: Why are we not switching to spigot? - PhysoniumI - 10-02-2014 Yeah. And....? Source is public and hashable (obv). You also don't have to touch any torrenting stuff to get it. >.> Yeah, you have to patch it as it's the only legal way to currently update it as it's bukkit based. That's not really what he asked. It's pretty easy to patch... If you know what you're doing, it's just as safe as bukkit. It's backed up by a large community too... I doubt you'd find any problems with it. So please, do more reasearch before you start complaining :3 RE: Why are we not switching to spigot? - Chibill - 10-02-2014 Source is not public it got took down with craftbukkit's RE: Why are we not switching to spigot? - PabloDons - 10-02-2014 we aren't redistributing anything so why not just decompile it and retrieve the source code? RE: Why are we not switching to spigot? - Chibill - 10-02-2014 I can try and update bukkit to actually run REAL 1.8 (with all the blocks unlike spigot.) but it might take a bit. RE: Why are we not switching to spigot? - PabloDons - 10-02-2014 you could simply update bukkit yourself? what are you waiting for? that would be so nice of you! but how are you going to do it all by yourself? bukkit had an entire team RE: Why are we not switching to spigot? - Chibill - 10-03-2014 Its all minecraft server code with hooks in it and now we got MCP mappings so how hard could it be.. I am not going to try and find all the bugs like they do but. RE: Why are we not switching to spigot? - Chibill - 10-03-2014 Already got 1.8 translated to the intrenaly mapped bukkit Minecraft servers mappings now to do a lot of patching. RE: Why are we not switching to spigot? - PhysoniumI - 10-06-2014 TBH it's a lot more than that. It's an optimized rewrite, though not so much as Spigot. RE: Why are we not switching to spigot? - Chibill - 10-06-2014 The actually bukkit server part contains a internally remapped MC server which has a bit changed to add in the bukkit hooks not much optimizing. We could use OC.TC's SportBukkit. it has 1.8 client support but is 1.7. |
