Nominations for Staff Election! - tyler569 - 08-08-2014

It's that time of year again everyone, time to see who the ORE community wants at the helm.

Nominate people you think would be good staffs for the job, in a few days admins will collect the nominations, approve the candidates, and open polls for election!

Your post should consist of a name to nominate and a short explanation of why they should be an admin, you may not nominate yourself.

[EDIT] Deleted irrelevant posts, please don't nominate active or inactive administrators or veterens

He seems very knowledgeable and probably mature enough. As far as I can tell, he is very active on the server.

Plus last night he made Hex CLE(the first of its kind I think).

Very knowledgeable on MANY MANY things when it comes to Redstone and computer science. As well has be has great people skills when teaching students and other members.
Also he seems to be one with the most (may not be but from what i have seen) knowledge on serial transmission.
And i have been in many many skype calls with him and his judgment on trials and situations seems to be very fair.

I don't have anyone I can really look at to nominate since I'm not on the server anymore. However, I would recommend looking for someone who isn't just active on the build server, but also the school and forums.

Nuup is always on and he's pretty chill.. I think he'd be a good admin.

To be fair, I'm actually probably one of the most mature and kindest people you would meet in real life. As for why I'm the exact opposite online, even I don't have the answer.

LordDecapo is extremely knowledgeable when computer science and hardware design. He is very kind and is always willing to help a person who needs it. Hopefully he does well in this election.

Recently there's been a lot of bitching about admins being useless. A key part about being an admin/staff is being willing to put aside your work and HELP OTHER PEOPLE above all else, or you'd just become like all of the other puported "badmins". Being a good builder does not mean they'd be a good admin and should not be part of the consideration WHAT SO EVER which has been what everyone has been focusing this around.

It should be a popularity contest (kinda) with some moderation. Staff need to be trustworthy and be on quite a bit. A lot of the nominated people haven't been on a ton (in my terms, which are rather insane) from what I've seen. If you're staff and only are on for an hour every other day, you might as well not as you don't contribute.

TL;DR
NEW BADMINS, DON'T BE AS BAD AS THE OTHERS :3

If you are nominated and you don't have the time to put in to be staff, please don't accept your nomination. If everybody who is nominated self assesses their ability to serve the community honestly, then we should end up with a good list of candidates.

Founding priciples of ORE, forged out of RDF mistakes, include something to the effect of, "Staff is Staff, no school staff or web staff or ssh enabled vs not ssh enabled staff, just Staff."

PNWMan is very eager to improve the condition of Lessons, and would be better able to do that as an admin. He is always very willing to help.

PhysoniumI doesn't put up with stupid people (a pro and/or a con for an admin, depending) and he is pretty much always online, which is ideal for staff.
