[SURVIVAL] Modpack update - Apuly - 05-09-2014 As some of us might know, we are currently experiencing some difficulty with time, causing the longest weekend in human history. Now I was thinking that we could use the extra free time caused by this weekend to add more mods to the Galaxy modpack. Which we're going to do. Because I'm Paul. This is how we're going to do it: In this thread you can suggest extra mods, mods that should be removed, and ways of configuring the mods. On the bottom of this post I will put a list of the current mods, so that people won't need to request already added mods, and so that the request for removal is a bit easier. If you have any questions about how the modpack is configured, you can either ask me or check for yourself (link to download in the old thread.) In 2 weeks the requesting part will be put to a halt, and we will enter a 2 week voting period, in which everybody can vote >against< the requests made by the community, After which I will add the changes to the modpack and update it to my dropbox as a temporary solution. Advances solars has been removed from the modpack because of instability (it's made for IC1, we're using IC2). So I'll be testing if compact solars is SMP compatible (it probably is). If it is, I'll throw it into the modpack. Some other issues that there are with the current modpack: 1: A slight pain in the buttonhole installation process. If somebody (chibill) could make an installer, that would be great. 2: We currently still don't have a server, because Chuck simply doesn't have (take) the time to set it up. So a temporary or permanent replacement would be nice. The modlist: Code: Applied energistics RE: Modpack update - Chibill - 05-09-2014 I will work on the installer. Okay. RE: Modpack update - Xray_Doc - 05-09-2014 Flymod, don't deny creative flying is shit. RE: Modpack update - Chibill - 05-09-2014 Also I can try hosting it again. I can even give you SSH and web control of the server's host. (As my server runs proxmox so I cab have multiple computers running on it. RE: Modpack update - Xray_Doc - 05-09-2014 Is this a survival modpack? You should make note of that in the title or first post. I thought this was a build server modpack and got really confused with these mods. RE: Modpack update - Apuly - 05-09-2014 On the one hand, true. On the other hand, there were 3 different threads about this modpack, and there was a giant list of SMP mods. RE: Modpack update - EDevil - 05-09-2014 Changed title to appropriate one. RE: [SURVIVAL] Modpack update - Nuuppanaani - 05-10-2014 No Thermal Expansion????????????????? RE: [SURVIVAL] Modpack update - Chibill - 05-10-2014 Also am making it run from a sub dir inside of .minecraft to make it easy on us. RE: [SURVIVAL] Modpack update - Chibill - 05-10-2014 Nvm it will be in the defalut forge location but it will backup your old Mods and coremods folder for you. RE: [SURVIVAL] Modpack update - Chibill - 05-10-2014 Also when you distubut the pack only include the configs, coremods and mods folders not the whole instance. This will make it easier on me. It's just not in the list because it was added later in the voting process. I'll add it to the list. (05-10-2014, 05:05 AM)Chibill Wrote: Also when you distubut the pack only include the configs, coremods and mods folders not the whole instance. I'll change it up. Just a small request: To keep the thread on-topic, could you private message me any requests for the installer part of the modpack? Edit: what you asked for: https://www.dropbox.com/s/rmd8n1phgnzydt5/The%20Galaxy2.zip RE: [SURVIVAL] Modpack update - EDevil - 05-10-2014 Please don't make this like that other thread where its just a conversation between Pauly and Chibill 2 pages long ![]() RE: [SURVIVAL] Modpack update - PabloDons - 05-10-2014 what version of forge do I use? RE: [SURVIVAL] Modpack update - Chibill - 05-10-2014 The newest on the install will automatically install it for you. RE: [SURVIVAL] Modpack update - Apuly - 05-10-2014 (05-10-2014, 04:01 PM)PabloDons Wrote: what version of forge do I use? At the moment it's on 7.8.1.737, but I'll be updating everything, including the forge version and the mods after this update. And yes chibill, I'll be keeping everything in the same download link, so no extra work for you. RE: [SURVIVAL] Modpack update - aerodynamicbrick - 05-10-2014 http://feed-the-beast.wikia.com/wiki/TrainCraft TRAINS ARE AMAZING LIKE A SUPERDUPERKOMPUTER RE: [SURVIVAL] Modpack update - Apuly - 05-10-2014 My vote: Remove equivalent exchange, it unbalances the modpack (getting diamond is a bit too easy IMO). Include Nuclear control, for nuclear reactors. Edit: Disable the universal macerator in the config. It does the same as the macerator, the pulveriser and the rock crusher, all in one block, while we have all those machines. A bit too OP IMO RE: [SURVIVAL] Modpack update - Chibill - 05-10-2014 I want Project Red installed and Redstone in motion. Project red is a Redpower replacement and Redstone in moution is a mod that adds moving structures like part of red power did. RE: [SURVIVAL] Modpack update - Apuly - 05-11-2014 (05-10-2014, 11:08 PM)Chibill Wrote: I want Project Red installed and Redstone in motion. There's a small problem with power red: It no be working. It was in there for a while, but then it turned out it wasn't SMP compatable. I know that there are even more replacements for the Redpower redstone, so I'll do a bit of googling. Just note that we will not have a new Redpower tube, so we'll just need to do it with buildcraft pipes combines with the shizz added by thermal expansion and additional buildcraft objects. RE: [SURVIVAL] Modpack update - Chibill - 05-11-2014 It works in SMP. Had it in a pack of mine for a bit but the problem for me was my own mod was making the server crash from Project Red. What about the other one. RE: [SURVIVAL] Modpack update - Nuuppanaani - 05-11-2014 (05-10-2014, 10:52 AM)paulydboy Wrote:(05-10-2014, 12:09 AM)Nuuppanaani Wrote: No Thermal Expansion????????????????? Oh, Great! What about Extracells? I really like that mod. RE: [SURVIVAL] Modpack update - Apuly - 05-11-2014 Extracells has been added to the requests. RE: [SURVIVAL] Modpack update - Chibill - 05-11-2014 This mod http://forums.technicpack.net/topic/45317-16x15x-redstone-in-motion-redpower-frames-2300-october-8/ RE: [SURVIVAL] Modpack update - Apuly - 05-11-2014 (05-11-2014, 09:27 PM)Chibill Wrote: This mod http://forums.technicpack.net/topic/45317-16x15x-redstone-in-motion-redpower-frames-2300-october-8/ You had already requested this mod in a previous post. No need for double requests from the same person. But still. Request has been added. RE: [SURVIVAL] Modpack update - Chibill - 05-11-2014 You never said anything about it but so I did nit know you added it to the request list. RE: [SURVIVAL] Modpack update - EDevil - 05-11-2014 This is going just like previous post, with just a conversation between 2 people. That's not the point of the announcements section, therefore moved to off topic. RE: [SURVIVAL] Modpack update - Apuly - 05-12-2014 I've been attempting to keep the thread on-topic, which it still seems to be. I also don't see a conversation between the 2 of us going. Just quick interactions that already have stopped. Interaction that were in-topic, by the way. I would have given the same response to any other member in this situation, for the sake of clarity. And final: I'm kinda annoyed that this was moved on such a quick notice, while the thread is still being used. So could you please reconsider the moving? For the sake of I don't know what. RE: [SURVIVAL] Modpack update - Chibill - 05-12-2014 But I do have a system with 8 GB of ram to be used with ssh if that helps. I can load any Linux or windows OS on it but not 8 (don't have the disk.) Also you have full control of the system because its a VM on my server. Proxmox rules! RE: [SURVIVAL] Modpack update - Apuly - 05-12-2014 This is not the thread to talk about server specs or control. #ontopic. RE: [SURVIVAL] Modpack update - Apuly - 05-16-2014 Adding stuff to my vote: Redio (computercraft network redstone blocks) Microblocks (microblocks) Mo' food and crops (More crops.) RE: [SURVIVAL] Modpack update - Apuly - 05-18-2014 A request I got from somebody else: Remove applied energystics, and replace logistic pipes. The ME system makes the crafting way to easy, which is a bit more balanced with logistic pipes. RE: [SURVIVAL] Modpack update - Nuuppanaani - 05-18-2014 I don't personally enjoy crafting at all, so I like mods that make it quicker. Never used Logistics Pipes tho, so can't say anything about that, but I do like AE a lot. RE: [SURVIVAL] Modpack update - Chibill - 05-19-2014 Before I know of AE I was using build craft auto crafting tables. RE: [SURVIVAL] Modpack update - Apuly - 05-25-2014 As some might have noticed, but mostly nobody, the 2 week suggesting period has finished, so we'll be locking this shit up. I'm honestly kind of disappointed at the input that this thread has gotten, but I'll just be blaming Edev for that one. So soon we will be entering the 2 week voting period, with a couple of small changes from how it was explained in the first post, but I'll be explaining that in the voting thread. On another note: it seems like Nickster might possibly be able to host the server on a more powerful machine than Chibill, which is nice. RE: [SURVIVAL] Modpack update - Chibill - 05-25-2014 Okay plus right now my server is being buggy. |
