Election Time! [OVER] - Xeomorpher - 04-12-2014
The nominations are in, and it's time to vote.
Voting is very simple, and thus, hopefully, this time, we will manage an election where no one messes up.
To vote, follow this link.
Fill out the []s with numbers, ranking the candidates in order of preference, with 1 being whoever you want to be admin, and 9 whoever you do not want to be admin.
Send this PM, the staff will then read all votes over, and tell you who you chose to lead the community!

That other thread wasn't asking if you wanted to be admin. It was uf you accepted the NOMINATION from the other thread. You two were not nominated.

Hey, I slightly may have cocked up massively. The instructions on the order in which to number your votes is wrong. The correct order is '1 as favorite and 9 as least favourite.'. I'm sorry for this inconvenience - If you previously sent a vote, please send a message telling us who your favourite and least favourite were, that way we can work out what order your vote was in.

Xeomorpher, we can get some things messed up and confused. Please just reset all votes and everything and restart the election so it can go smoothly without anymore hiccups.

How badly i palm face, the election was done the same way as every other election, rank those who you want most with the lowest number, how many times have you guys voted in previous ellections and not noticed? kinda would suggest maybe our staff is of those you least wanted to see XD.
At anyrate, if people say weather 1 was their fav or 9 was their fav, whats the need of a restart? are you guys blind but saying 1==fav or 9==fav is much more quicker for you guys as well XD
Otherwise it just means everything is scraped, the progress takes longer, and it's more work for everyone...
Just saying no harm in amending as apose to restarting

Magazorb, the point is with the restart that we do not screw anything up. It seems that every election has been messed up some way or another and we would just like to see it go smoothly.

Magazorb, the point is with the restart that we do not screw anything up. It seems that every election has been messed up some way or another and we would just like to see it go smoothly.
Exactly, to be honest, we dont know who is most wanted and who is least wanted. Admin should just make a new thread post and start over.

I didnt find you insulting. But in the forum post it says for example 9 being most wanted and 1 being least, and then on the link to send a vote it says the opposite. So its not very clear....

Why don't we just reset? Instead of doing this python scrypted thing, setup a google spreadsheet poll that we can use. Nearly %100 full-proof and much easier.

I had been exploring a simaler avenue a few weeks ago, and unless we use the forum there's no way to prove only members vote/people only vote once.
For now (and I do have something cooking) this is the best way to tally votes.
That being said, this election has not been messed up as you said. The instructions are very clear and if you are one of the people who followed the post instead of the message, our don't recall, send them a pm with your favorite.
Thus is really not as complicated as you seem to be making or to be. Remember, not only do the current Admins have brains of their own, they were also elected - by you and your peers - to handle situations just like this. If you neither trust them nor have confidence if their abilities I would have to suggest that you abstain from voting, as you will never be happy no matter what happens. If this is not the case, pursuing got a redo will only extend this voting process, the collection of nominees for which started around a month ago.
