FTB should be running soon. (weekend) - Dcentrics - 02-24-2014

This weekend i will be building/initializing the server that will arrive on Friday. Look forward to paulydboys mod pack that he has constructed for the server. AAAAAAAAnd we still haven't got a way to efficiency get the modpack to you guys but i hope you at least know how to install stuff. alright that's about it!

RE: FTB should be running soon. (weekend) - tokumei - 02-24-2014

If you send me a zip of a mc installation that fits the mod requirements, I can find a way to distribute it for you.
EDIT: Without breaking Minecraft's copyright laws

That's somewhat important :p

Looking forward to FTB though, should be awesome!

I say post the mods and configs in a zip on a topic here.

RE: FTB should be running soon. (weekend) - mort96 - 02-25-2014

Just make sure it works on Linux and OS X too, and I'll be happy.

RE: FTB should be running soon. (weekend) - Apuly - 02-25-2014

Needed to modify the config a bit by the way (apperently forestry also added copper&silver). I'll need to send the new config to you.

I got it to work for the multimc launcher, so you meight want to start downloading that if you don't want it to be put in your .minecraft folder. The installation process seems to be as easy as dumping the entire thing into the instances folder (according to youtube). I'll post a link to where you can download the multiMC version of the modpack at the bottom of this reply. If you still want it in your .minecraft folder, you need to install Forge 7.8.1.737, and then dump the mod folder and the config into it.
If you want to install it in other launchers, installing forge doesn't work for some magical reason, it meight be because some of the libraries can't be downloaded. You can just get those from the lib folder in the multiMC version, and dump those into the lib folder of the instance that your magical launcher has created.

The config in the client version (should) be all right. If you start shouting at your computer because it makes random blieps in creative: ars magica add those for when your potion effect is about to run out. No idea how to turn it off. You should also be able to dissable the sounds that the rock crusher makes in the railcraft config.

And it should theoraticly be working for linux/OS X, but I'm not sure, because my ubuntu laptop is shit, and we don't have any OS X machines in this house, so I wasn't able to test it.

The Galaxy download (yes, I called it the galaxy, wanted to make a bad pun, but I was to lazy to figure out how to craft books with text in them.)

RE: FTB should be running soon. (weekend) - Chibill - 02-25-2014

You do know that the luncher let's you say where for that profile to put the stuff like saves and servers the game Dir it's normally .minecraft but you can set it.

I know. That was my initial plan. BUT, at least for me, only the jar file was being put into this magical folder, and the config, mods and config mods, and pretty much everything, was appearing inside the .minecraft folder. Not that I've done a lot of research, nor that I have researched it at all, but judging by the fact that, although the jar was in a different folder than .minecraft, everything was still appearing in .minecraft.

RE: FTB should be running soon. (weekend) - Chibill - 02-26-2014

Also you have forge installed improperly. that's the installer you run as a java program to install it in to the normal launcher's profiles or in a server or just to get the normal forge jar.

But yeah.

*is immmediately interested in the new FTB server after not being around the community since he had to work on his PC... AGAIN)

But yeah.

Judging by the fact that everything is working just fine over here, it seems like it has been installed the right way (MultiMC magic, I dunnow).

RE: FTB should be running soon. (weekend) - Apuly - 02-26-2014

By the way, I've not included some mods because I was eighter too lazy to include them, or my google powers wern't powerfull enough (aka, biomes o plenty), or they just didn't work.

These mode are:
Redpower (no 1.5.2 smp)
biomes o plenty (failing google power)
more potions (too lazy)
zans minimap (don't remember why, think it didn't work, then became to lazy)
logistic pipes (first didn't work, then too lazy)

Should I install the working mods anyways, or are most people like "meehg" and just let it pass?

RE: FTB should be running soon. (weekend) - Apuly - 03-07-2014

After some research, it turn out that blocks from advanced solars will make a shit ton of errors when loading worlds (or chunks, not sure) where one of them have been placed. After some research, I have concluded that the cause is probebly the fact that advanced solars is made for IC1, while the modpack uses IC2.

All the blocks still work, but I have had a case where some blocks were removed from the world. I'm also not sure how much your minecraft likes to handle a shit ton of solar panels and/or quantum generators, but I shall do some research soon.

Edit: Shit ton of solar panels will make the same amount of errors, even when constributed around different chunks.
Unloading and loading the chunks again will not make extra errors, which makes it seem like the errors only happen when starting up the world.

that's because its errors from parts of the API being different or depreciated.

Are you genius enough to fix it?

RE: FTB should be running soon. (weekend) - Chibill - 03-09-2014

I could but I am not sure if forge for 1.5 still works on the rev end from recent changes to make forge better but yes I will try.

RE: FTB should be running soon. (weekend) - Chibill - 03-09-2014

it seems to be how it gets the block in the world working on the fix.
Edit:

I can't fix it I can not decompile the mod to work on it. Because I can't decompile IC2 because it was compiled to srg names in stead of to notch names.

So yeah can't we deal with a one time error on server start?

Edit: again almost got it fixed had to manually deobf Advance solar panels.

Edit:
I give up again its hard to manually deobf it even when it has less then 10 classes to deobf.

RE: FTB should be running soon. (weekend) - Chibill - 03-09-2014

its IC2 doing it when it calls Advance panels chunkLoad method or something like that.

RE: FTB should be running soon. (weekend) - Dcentrics - 03-10-2014

Any idea when the server shall be up now?

RE: FTB should be running soon. (weekend) - Dcentrics - 03-14-2014

not a clue but it really shouldn't be long. have a car accident thingy to take care of to

RE: FTB should be running soon. (weekend) - Chibill - 03-15-2014

I can try hosting a temp one but it would also have my 2 other servers running one a modes 1.6 and a normal 1.7 and only me and hime would have control plus admins who are op.

RE: FTB should be running soon. (weekend) - Apuly - 03-15-2014

Would be a possibility. You would just need the server files, which I'm willing to give to you.
We'll just need to finger out the best way.

RE: FTB should be running soon. (weekend) - Chibill - 03-15-2014

The thing is for my server I am running MineOS so it might be a bit of time to set up (less then a day but and that includes port forwarding) and temperayly we can use my free Url too.

RE: FTB should be running soon. (weekend) - Apuly - 03-15-2014

I don't see the problem with that. If you're willing to put time into setting up the server, then everybody shall be happy.

Apperently the server is quite cpu intensive (I've already tested it with somebody), but we'll see how your server shall last.

The Galaxy server<<download for the server files

RE: FTB should be running soon. (weekend) - EDevil - 03-16-2014

Well, i think its common sense that if admins on ore cant be staff on Chi's server, that we cannot change our dns to point to his address.

RE: FTB should be running soon. (weekend) - Chibill - 03-16-2014

I know also I will not op myself and just op the Admins as I don't need op.

Five pages in the announcement section is bit much. Forking to off topic...
