Why are so many CPU engineers pretentious pricks? - Iceglade - 02-18-2014
Well, you can't deny it. We see this on ORE in the form of certain members. It's not just a smart-person thing either, as programmers and mathematicians are highly personable whenever I have seen them. However, people working in low-level CPU architecture seem to have this mindset in which everybody not at or above their level is not worth the trouble of helping.
Is there any clear reason for this that I don't see?

You obviously haven't worked with people that much. Being a computer engineer has nothing to do with being a douche. Some people are just douches, however they are much more noticeable in our small group of people when we get them.

I think the problem is that the majority of people on this server are very young. Young people are quite mean...
also I don't help people anymore because I got sick of teaching people for a few hours then they just leave and never come back. also I'm a total noob so no one seeks my help. :3

being over 14 doest really count as "young".

Younger than 17 or 18 is young because it means that the person's brain isn't fully developed so they haven't finished maturing. That being said, most of the people on this server are under 15 so they aren't matured yet.
