With a budget of $280 I made a nice server that, I think, will last for a good time.

So, the parts (of course):

The total is different since I bought the parts with rebates and sales and the sales/rebates expired a few days later). Currently it is being used as a performance server for hosting but I will later add 4TB HDDs (I scrapped two old 80GB HDDs to use until I get the new drives) and an SSD as the OS boot drive to make it fast, it is also expandable for 32GB RAM.

Just another example of great shopping. The only thing i maybe would have done different is the PSU. Since this machine is not going to draw a lot of juice out of the wall, i would have gone with a psu that has a lover wattage. Also a 80+ silver or above would be preferably, since the machine will be 24/7 (i'll assume ;D). Nonetheless, this will be a quick powerful machine for that money! (1 last thing though, what os are you running? (please let it be ubuntu server))

I wanted something like that but also wanted to save money. This was on sale from $45 to $20 at the time.
