ORE Does the Rubik's Cube - WrytXander - 12-16-2013

So, I just got my first sub-minute solve on the 3x3x3 Rubik's cube with 56:45:91 (quite fascinating isnt it :D)! It was my goal for quite some time now! And I wanted to know if any of our other members have beaten the rubiks cube? If they did, what is their record?

Feel free to share any experinces you have with the rubik's cube as well :)

Oh and I ordered a DaYan Guhong, that should get my times 5 sec better or something probably - if we consider the fact that I am using a modded standart rubiks cube :D

RE: ORE Does the Rubik's Cube - Halflife390 - 12-16-2013

I used to do it, my best time was around 3 minutes. I also used to solve the 2x2x2 cube, void cube and my favorite the mirror cube!

RE: ORE Does the Rubik's Cube - Iceglade - 12-16-2013

I recently got two sub-20s Big Grin I changed my hand movements and went from 90 to an average of 40 in about two weeks Big Grin

RE: ORE Does the Rubik's Cube - Treesin - 12-16-2013

I average 18 seconds. My record is 10.75 seconds, and I've gotten a handful of 12s and 13s.

I'm an addict.

My god...

RE: ORE Does the Rubik's Cube - Xray_Doc - 12-16-2013

My friend got one of those 10x10x10 cubes. Jeez, that thing was just scary to look at.

I'm so jealous...

I'd love to solve one, but it would take so long that I would like never do it. And it's so expensive...

The biggest cube I have is the 7x7, but I'm slow as shit on big cubes.

My record is like 2 mins-something I think, not really sure. It's pretty bad though.

RE: ORE Does the Rubik's Cube - Jmking80 - 12-17-2013

Wait, you can actually "solve" these things? I thought they were just for show?!

Haha it doesn't actually take too long to learn how. It's actually pretty easy if you do it with the beginner's method, only took me around two hours to memorize the couple of algorithms that you need for it.

If you want to do it fast... Well that's a different story lol.

Hehehe, It is not that hard to get faster dude :p When I was around 2 mins, I learned fingertricks, lubed my cube, got used to the algorithms even more, the it was at 1:15 or something. then I started f2l, that got me sub minute. :D And it is getting better :)))))

Hahahah mahn :D This guy called Feliks Zemdegs just solved a scrambled Rubik's Cube with a mind-boggling 4.9 seconds. :s

I am obsessed with Feliks, actually my favorite "celebrity". Tongue

When did he do that though? Not a competition, right? I think I would have heard about that...

I think he has 3 unofficial sub-5 solves, and his official average of 5 is like over a second faster than anyone else, which is absurd at that scale. He is just so much better than anyone out there in the competitive scene, it's crazy. AND he's amazing at a bunch of other events as well. That is why he is the love of my life.
