Hoppers have been OOFed - Matthew - 07-18-2018
Hi, Hopper tick rate was decreased to improve server performance. As a result both of my current projects are broken.
- Item memory - now completely useless
- My 1x1 display - needs a clock made and synced ever time you want to use it (aka useless)
I and others need hoppers to update at a normal rate for our builds to work, so i recommend resetting the hopper update rate and drastically lowering the furnace update rate instead, or possibly resetting the map getting rid of the unneeded hopper rendering on people's nearby plots who never get on.

If we're changing tick rates for blocks, it might be more useful to change rate ticks for blocks that dont have an impact on redstone; like
enderportal blocks, and furnaces

Furnace update changes require jumping into development. Hoppers were as simple as changing 3 configuration variables. No such variables exist for furnaces.
Infact, most everything except hoppers would require custom written code to prevent updating. This is something we can look into, though it may not be exactly timely.

Is there no temporary solution so i can resume working on my projects? If not, i and probably others will be switching servers until this is fixed.

I might be able to throw together a furnace tick killer. Or we can find a plug-in that does it.
