Title sums it up. I am considering hosting a vanilla survival server for ORE because I personally want to follow the vanilla game progression with anyone else in the community who would want to collaborate on that. Hosting a vanilla server would not mean that modded has to go down; I have no intention to take it down.
If you would be willing to spend some time at least weekly on a community SMP server, then respond "Yes" so I can get a rough estimate of the interest.
If you have a feature, plugin, or rule you'd like to see on the server, post it here! I'll post a poll in a few days with the suggested options.

I love vanilla, but over time it becomes stale and repetitive
if we do set up a vanilla SMP, would there be any plugins, and if so what plugins?

I'd suggest using the "modded" survival thag chibill suggested, where plugins fix some shortcomings that are in vanilla minecraft. IIRC he made a bunch of plugins for this, though I'm not sure.

I'd like to play on a vanilla server with plugins. We should vote on what world settings and plugins to have. I'd like to see economy as well as essentials.
