CLA makes more sense, but I hardly see how a CLA would be made faster and simpler than a CLE. The best Kogge-Stone CLA adder that I have seen in Minecraft was absolutely huge and still took 8 ticks for 8 bits, which I believe was the theoretical 'best-case-scenario'. As far as other implementations of CLA's in Minecraft, LucASS95 claims to have made a 9 tick Ladner Fischer CLA, but I have no idea how big it is. Point being though, CLE adders are about 5 ticks in the 'worst-case-scenario' with no piston derpiness to reset, so the possible throughput is excellent. Until I see a 2 tick Instant Carry adder that has a 3.5 tick throughput (still worse than a typical CLE's 3 tick throughput), I'd say that CLE's are the best adders in Minecraft at the moment.

I'm not interested in Proper's video on CLA's, I actually don't like listening to his videos in general. Even though it is in minecraft, the concept has already been very well developed and is known as "Carry Look-Ahead", so that is what we shall call it. I suppose you can call it what you like. Anyways, back on topic, any news on the speed of that 1 wide redstonewarrior?
