What do you like the most about redstone?: There's much more to it than meets the eye.
What's a thing you have made which demonstrates redstone knowledge?: I've done a few minigames, auto-brewers and such, but yesterday was my first day on this server, and I built my first ALU which, although I had some help on, I was able to completely understand (most likely due to my programming and basic engineering knowledge which is about all you need for redstone computers).
What does the thing do?: It's an ALU. You put in numbers, you get them added together. Or other fancy stuff by turning things on/off.

What do the flicking on and off do? what you said was very vague can you go a little more in depth.

*sigh* It adds numbers using a combination of XORs and the carry line.
You can create lines that, when powered will force certain circuits in the ALU to remain on, such as the carry line (flooding or cutting it) as well as adding things to the front, like inverters. An ALU is simply an adder with fancy circuits around it that will turn parts of it on and off to the point where it can be used for other things (OR, NAND, XOR, etc)
