HDD-SSD hybrid thingy - Hastumer - 03-15-2015

Well... This is kinda a proof of concept: I was thinking about a HDD in Minecraft this morning, and I came up with this HDD-SSD-hybrid:

I know, it's kinda big, but I also had another thought, which you can see here:

This was my first thought of it, but then I came up with this:

The piston marked with the white arrow HAS TO BE THERE!!!, because the piston next to it is budding, so the marked piston "debugs" the piston next to it. Phew, I hope, you understood that Angel Well, I know, it's big, and has pistons, but I kinda like it! I hope to see it in one of your next builds, I will definetly use that in my future builds!

PS: I wanted to make this thread this morning, but CloudFare said, ORE-Forum timed out ._. (the main page was avaliable, not the forum main page)

UPDATE:
Made the second design tinier by lowering 1 redstone:

It's better and uses 1 redstone and 1 block less!

do you call it HDD because it uses pistons?

This is a reletively big SR-latch. Plus it looks like you would have to use AND instead of NOR when selecting the memory(in MC thats always slower). not to mention the pistons which act really strange in that configuration.

there are better ways to do this but good job.

what is a HDD? if i may ask.

Hard-Drive-Disk

I like that you are actually utilizing the Quasi connection instead of letting it hinder and frustrate you. I'm sure this will keep growing as you continue to find ways of optimization.

This isnt an SSD. SSD designates solid state, which clearly, this is not...

Well...  I said it's an hybrid thingy, because it uses a rep infinite loop to save the signal. I know, it's not a SSD, but I found that it describes it best. (With hybrid.)
Oh, and, if I might ask: Apocryphan? What is that? xD

SSD describes Solid state.... How does ssd describe this?
