Application - Limey - 03-08-2015 Minecraft name: LimeyBoy What do you like the most about redstone?: Using it to invent things? It itches my problem solving itch. What's a thing you have made which demonstrates redstone knowledge?: The most accessible examples are the few things a friend made videos for. The smallest/fastest Rubick's Cube, the Roomswapper (currently all time top post on /r/redstone), and a very efficient implementation of the lights out game. What does it do?: Rubicks cube: just a piston tape based toy. Roomswapper: completely swaps a dark crampt cave into a cozy living space Lights Out: just a mini game, optimised for speed Image and/or video, from imgur.com or youtube.com: Rubick's Cube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Wq0rQp9ArM Roomswapper: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q0uabrQb63Q Lights Out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GTdOpXX_hmI These are my more 'fun' builds, if you need something more technically impressive, I should be able to make some videos of some of my other builds / projects Do you agree with the rules?: Sure RE: Application - VoltzLive - 03-10-2015 While the builds are neat, They don't really fit into the realm of what we do here on ORE. We mainly focus on computational redstone based off of automaton and mathematics. If you could supply some builds like that then Great! If not, Then I would suggest applying to our school instead. RE: Application - Limey - 03-10-2015 Okay, so here's a cell-based conways game of life. The cells are 7x7, it runs off a 16 tick clock, there's a pressure plate on each cell which will toggle the state of the cell. And here's a very playable connect 4, with win detection. RE: Application - LordDecapo - 03-11-2015 The game of life is a good build and closer to the type of Redstone we do on ORE, have you ever made any ALUs, CPUs, or something along those lines? RE: Application - Limey - 03-12-2015 Pretty much all of my builds are worked out to directly solve the problem, which is why they tend to be mechanical rather than computational. I did have a stint a few years ago messing around building calculator components, I built a few messy instant carry adder/subtractors and I had a shift-add multiplier working. So no ALU or CPU. D: RE: Application - greatgamer34 - 03-12-2015 I bet after a week on school you'd probably be ready for build RE: Application - Phase - 06-01-2015 I bet after a day on school you'd probably be ready for build |
