Build application - Back_and_Black1 - 12-04-2014

Minecraft name:

What do you like the most about redstone?:

I like the fact that you can replicate things in real life and you can test your ideas without having to go out and buy parts.

What's a thing you have made which demonstrates redstone knowledge?:

I have built a computer but there are tons of tutorials so really anybody can. What I am most proud of is my router.

As mentioned in my thread on the school teacher thread I am working on a universal code system for 16 and maybe 8 bit computers so any one can write code (I plan on starting fresh but taking ideas from bennyscube). The computer will be multi-core and will act similar to the computers in real life.

What does the thing do?:

It acts just the same as a router in real life and takes in a signal ,and based on a ping signal to the destination before, sends the information in the shortest route

Do you agree with the rules?:

Yes

Please also check out my application for a teacher on the school server for more information and pictures. Thanks!

good luck with multi core. Accepted.

Now that you have read what you wanted to read, i shall inform you of the errors of multi core in minecraft.

There is no benefit to multiple cores as bussing speeds are slow, and any caching techniques are also too slow. However, pipelining a single core to the point that it is as efficient as possible (ask lord decapo) now that is what an impressive computer is made from.

Alright thank you and I know the architecture of many different companies (i.e. Motorola) cpu's which implement Manchester carry chain, caryy skip adders, carry chain etc. Do you have any experience with these? And if so are they a waste of time to test out?

In regards to MC, for 8 bit I believe in CLE, For anything for more bits, I would resort to an ICA adder(even though I hate pistons) just because ICA allows for fast addition.
