Redstone interests me for many reasons. It is a beautiful demonstration of how you can take something that is seemingly simple, to build infinitely complex, creative, and original designs. The universe is built up of incredibly simple building blocks, that nobody will ever truly understand. The farther you break down the mechanics of things, the less they start to make sense. That's why there is some magic to learning Redstone. The way you can understand a concept, and 5 minutes later, not be able to explain why an algorithm just WORKS.

Prompt (A work in progress): A good friend thewitchking15 and I have collaborated to create our first computer together. We loved the idea that the computer was created for the convenience of the "programmer", an idea that witch constantly put into my mind. We created VISION-CORE with a desire for convenience, and wanted a clean cut computer. Speed wasn't really our objective, rather.. We wanted good, reliable hardware that was simple to understand and program, and we also (both having OCD) wanted a computer that was very symmetrical and visually pleasing. The computer is 8 bits with 63 lines of program memory, using UC Berkley style standard Goto logic, 15 conditions, and their respective boolean indicators. Dual read registers for optimal CPU performance, and approx. 15 bytes of RAM. Again, not the fastest computer on the block (Fib. clocking in around 12 ticks per word) but surprisingly easy to program. Initially, we envisioned a 32 bit ISA, but due to some additional hardware, and unfortunate circumstances, we ended up with a 39 bit ISA. This may not be exactly the convenience but we were looking for, but we found that it was easier for the programmer, NOT to oversimplify. So far, no GPU and we are not planning on making one (specifically for that computer at least).

Next Project info: The next in the WitchWonka (W200) Series will be a Fully functional Dual Core 16 bit computer. The finished product will include a 32 bit UC Berkley inspired ISA, with all new and updated hardware relevant to 1.5. We will NOT be focusing on the speed of the computer; rather, we will be making sure that the user gets the BEST POSSIBLE user experience. Yes that means command blocks, a beautiful display, and an all new way of interacting with the computer that I cannot fully disclose as we are undergoing some tests still at this moment. VISION-CORE is all about making sure that ANYONE can use a computer built in Minecraft.

About me: I am 16 years old, and I live in Wisconsin. I enjoy making YouTube videos, and playing BO2 Zombies occasionally. If you would like to add me, my registered forum name == my gamertag.

You can see a full image breakdown of our computer so far at http://www.reddit.com/user/thewitchking15
However, if you would rather see the computer up close and personal; 98.144.7.150 is up 24/7, and is where we work on the computer when we can find the time.

Sebastian, you must understand why I hesitate when I see your application. Of course you are qualified to be a member as far as skill is concerned. However, they way you handled being temp-banned on the RDF was less than satisfactory. I am willing to give you a second chance simply because I think you make a great addition to our group's skill-set.
