Application - DeadPotatoX - 06-22-2013

What is your In Game Name (IGN): TheMan3675

What in particular interests you most about redstone: Pistons, how they can move blocks, making possibilities endless! Also some of the new blocks which allow for compact, complex builds!

Which prompt have you selected to build: 4, Showing you a device that demonstrates a deep understanding of the timing and mechanics of redstone.

If you selected prompt 5, what is the prompt that you have designed: Null (If that makes sense).

Please provide an explanation of your device: My device allows a secret base in those increasingly popular pillars! It is made up of two components, a triple piston extender (made with custom timings, a restricted area and only using two sides to allow for the retraction!) and a retractor/extender to remove the pistons, allowing you to jump down! All in a 6x6x6 area!

Why it fits in with the prompt: Because I have used a compact triple piston extender from scratch (because no others worked with the design) with custom timings to make it fast but working!

Please provide image or video documentation of your device hosted by either imgur.com or youtube.com: Standalone Pillar Door 6x6x6 [COMPACT] - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CCaZumW4px0

Do you agree to the rules of our server: Yes, I will follow every rule!

It seems nobody ever responded to this, which is kinda sad. I can't really judge this app as I'm not sure what is good and bad with piston contraptions like this. It looks cool, but I'm way outside of that world.

Hoping to get someone to actually review this.

We are more on the logic side of redstone, and not the piston door stuff. But Im not the one you need Tongue.

Well, i'm on the edge about this app. Does anybody else have any input?

RE: Application - CMOSprinkles - 07-04-2013

I was under the impression that regular members are not to post in membership application threads, so I'm not sure I should be giving any input on this matter. However, we do usually work with computational redstone; it doesn't have to be binary, it could be in any base, but we kind of prefer seeing circuitry to piston gadgets. We should be able to do both though on our plots, so if you could just demonstrate some knowledge of computational devices in redstone, then you should be allowed to build all sorts of piston contraptions on your plot. So, DeadPotatoX, could you maybe just build an adder that can subtract? Just to show you know how or can learn how to manipulate redstone to simulate logic.
