The device in the picture encodes regular digits to BCD (binary coded decimal) and converts BCD into binary. First it saves the first number, then it loops the number both shifted over 8 times, and shifted over 2 times, and adds them together in preparation for the second digit from user input. This employs the method of x8+x2=x10. When the second number is pressed, it is added to the first number pressed times 10, and the result is new binary number. This is an original design making use of Grizdale's full adder.
