School Plot Deletion - PNWMan - 07-03-2014

On the school server, plots who's owners have been offline for 6 months or more, have been banned, or who have the name Hardfg5000 or xlagtastrophyx (because they said they would leave this server forever) have been marked with red wool on the map. This is due to the fact that there are only approximately 65 unclaimed plots left, out of 784 total plots. The massive shortage of plots calls for one of two possible measures (or both, if so decided by the staff): 1)Expand the world size or 2)Delete old plots. I have helped the #2 cause by marking these old plots (with the sole exception of BennyQBD's plot). I will not go further into cause #2 by resetting the physical plots with World Edit unless I am told by a staff to do so. Another staff will have to unclaim these plots (some of which are already unclaimed, but are somehow lit and likely filled with junk). 138 plots on the map are marked.
If you have a plot you would like to save, please join school and leave me a message with /mail send PNWMan and the coordinates of your plot with the owner's name. To find the coordinates, do /pwarp yourname and it will give you them. If you have 2 plots, give me both coordinates. You may also protect the plot of another person if you so wish, just do the same process.
I sure hope this helps in solving the plot shortage issue on our lovely school server.

Okay, first of all, the resetting of plots is rather controversial and must be discussed among staff. I do agree that there needs to be more plots, but we do have plugins and commands to generate more (however I don't personally know how to use them).
In my opinion: The plots of students who have been inactive for a long time (at least 6 months) should be saved and then cleared. The plots of banned players can be cleared without saving. If the student logs back in again we can reload the plot onto an empty plot. To be quite honest I don't think that it will happen too often that a student comes back, so reloading plots shouldn't become too much of a hassle for staff when it does occur.
