From what I heard, Eccleston only did one season because he felt the people there treated him like crap.

Watch the first 4 seasons of the reboot, those are awesome. I really didn't one Matt Smith episodes as entertaining.
As for the d episodes I prefer the 2nd, 4th, and 5th Doctor episodes.
