Worst. Application. Ever. - qBBQ - 01-26-2014

Minecraft name: qBBQ

What do you like the most about redstone?:
I like redstone because it simulates real-life circuitry but at the same time it does not. I do not like pistons however because they are derpy. Also, it makes me happy. Big Grin

What's a thing you have made which demonstrates redstone knowledge?:
I turned on a redstone lamp. I also made an adder/subtractor which can handle negative output and display said output. I also attempted at making a 0-9 keypad to a 5-digit 7-segment display complete with input shifters but pistons were being derpy and sometimes didn't retract the blocks. The save file became corrupt somehow so no screenshots of that though I could remake it (but am too lazy to.) Angry

What does the thing do?:
The adder/subtractor handles both operations in 1 circuit and toggles between both with a multiplexer. In subtraction mode, if the answer is negative, the output bits are flipped and sent to a second set of adders to add 1 to properly display the output (eg. -12).

The 0-9 keypad to a 7-segment display is pretty self explanatory. It converts the input into binary which is then converted into 7-segment format. The step to binary was taken because it was to be part of a much larger project to make a calculator.
